April 16 – Lewis Alva Bryan, former sheriff of Putnam County died Thursday afternoon
while working at the state highway garage.
Mr. Bryan was deputy sheriff two terms and sheriff two terms.
Subsequently he was an excise officer, a guard at the Indiana State Farm and an
employee at the highway garage. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.
